Problem
The tech start-up used a long, passive video for new-hire onboarding. This was inefficient and ineffective, leading to knowledge gaps, costly retraining, and even a loss of credibility with customers.
Process
As the lead instructional designer, I owned the project from start to finish.
Mapped the Actions: I applied Cathy Moore’s Action Mapping to focus the training on what new hires needed to do, not just what they needed to know.
Designed for Engagement: I created activities that simulated real on-the-job scenarios.
Managed the Project: I used the Success Approximation Model (SAM) to manage the project, developing storyboards and prototypes that aligned with Nextworld's Agile workflow and brand.

Solution
An interactive Articulate Rise course for new-hire onboarding. The course contained videos, storyline simulations of the Nextworld platform, assessments, and downloadable resources new hires could use as on-the-job, just-in-time reference material.
